easy to construct and use!
ITEMS YOU NEED
14 x 10 piece of plexy glass or glass
background paper (scrapbooking paper is great from craft store)
60-100 watt light
How to put it all together:
1) Take your 12x12x12 box and cut out one side. Keep the bottom of
your box intact.
2) (open side you just cut out) Measure 9 inches from the bottom and
make a slit all the way to the back of the box on both sides. Do not
cut the back of the box.
3) Slide your glass into the slits of the box
4) Take the wax paper and tape it over the light source. The
wax paper is used to defuse the light.
5) Aim the light towards the opening of your box.
6) Lay your background on the bottom of your box as your background.
7) Shine your light into to open area of the box. Take your photos from the
back of the box... with the light facing you.
Your camera should focus on the jewelry or small object, use your macro setting if your camera gas one.
The background will become fuzzy due to the distance of the background from

MORE than £300 was raised in aid of charity at a jewellery sale in Hereford last week.
Emma Plunkett, who has an imported jewellery business in London, brought a selection of Indian jewellery to Sybella Kirkbride’s house in Bishopstone to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice.
Emma and Sybella spent nearly a year in India before they went to university and it inspired her to set up her business.
“It was just brilliant that Sybella and Emma wanted to support St Michael’s in this way,” said Helen Cotterell, fundraising consultant for St Michael’s.
“Emma has a lot of dealings with a hospice in India and she was just so happy to also support our local hospice with her sale.”

Etsy Featured Artist - kalicat
I also visited her website of her non-jewelry art, some of which has been sought after by fashion magazines and others. If you would like to take a peek at this talented woman's other artwork, go here http://www.catherinemarche-designs.com/
This bracelet, Icycle Bracelet features some of kalicat's wirework using a wire crochet method. The stones resemble ice dangling from it.
"Dazzling sterling silver, Rose quartz and Opalite pendant with Silver chain" is a chain necklace embellished with a multi-gem pendant.
"Pink freshwater pearls dangly earrings" feature pearls in a pretty shade of pink dangling from a sterling multi-drop. Perfect for a nice night out.

while the gemstones associated with the zodiac are for
Libra (September 23-October 23) : Opal and smokey quartz
for Scorpio (October 24-November 22) : Topaz and Malachite
I have chosen to introduce you to Opal and Tourmaline.
Opal: Derived from the Latin "Opalus" , which means "Precious stone"
Opal was thought to protect the wearer from disease and to possess the gift of prophecy
They are found mainly in Australia, Mexico and the U.S.A
It is believed that they convey hope, innocence and purity. The Traditional Metaphysical Properties for the October Birthstone Opal are happiness, faithfulness, loyalty and confidence. The healing properties are reputed to be effective for health problems relating to the eyes and eye infections. The Opal is also used to enhance visualization, imagination, dreams and healing.
Tourmalines exist naturally in a myriad of colors: yellow, green, blue, pink, red, brown, black. Some even have bi-colored properties. A valued bi-colored variety of tourmaline, found in Brazil, is called the "watermelon."
Watermelon Tourmaline is a unique stone. It balances the yin and yang in the body. Wearing a slice of watermelon tourmaline will allow you to understand matters in a more balanced way. Watermelon tourmaline draws joyful and understanding love to you. Meditate with a slice of watermelon between your hands and understanding of the beauty of the universe may come to you. Watermelon tourmaline is reddish-pink encircled by green

So, what do designers do when sitting in the tube?
Some read the news, some are asleep, other fix their make up, some are eating
and I, sometimes, like to sketch down ideas for new designs
Here is one.

KaliCat may feel the same way herself. Her love of blooms has lead to a line of jewelry titled “Blum”.
Kalicat has trained in jewellery at Central St Martins and Hatton Gardens, in London.
Mom of 2, she says: “I keep sane by painting and illustrating Fashion, jewelry-making and dreaming about all the things I will create in the near future”. Hopefully she will have more “blums” for us in the future too.
Here are some pieces from her Blum collection:

Tell us about yourself
I am an adventure seeker and traveler and always hungry to discover new things. I have been greatly influenced by my travels and the amazing people I have met along the way. Having zip-lined through the cloud forest canopies of Costa Rica, jumped off of a bridge into the Urubamba River in Peru, hiked the Andes to Machu Picchu, traveled Death Road in Bolivia, and driven the Kennedy Expressway in Chicago...I have learned that life is something to be embraced with all senses. I believe life and art hold the same truths...that it must not only be viewed, but heard, touched, smelled, and tasted with an open heart, an open mind, and always with an open-mouthed hearty guffaw.
We particularly like this pendant which can display a name of your choice
She has a variety of collections to complement any style and price point for young girls to women. and will happily accept orders for custom sizing or a change in clasp or ear post/wire on any of her pieces.

By a Cincinnati creator, An-G
KreativeMindz is our company I started a few years ago (a dream I've had forever). Aly and Beau are a husband and wife team, supporting each other through love, laughter and creativity. An-G is one of Aly's best friends, who is a wonderful seamstress and enjoys sewing in her free time, when she isn't being a vet :).
We mostly make clothing (in all sizes and colors), Goddess Wraps™, Hot Packs, Bags, Purses, Wallets, Cuffs and many other cool things! Beau is a very skilled craftsman and carpenter. Check out the Wooden Kreationz section to see some things my husband is now adding. :D
A LITTLE ABOUT HER
I was born and raised in a home of artists. My mother a painter, and my father a photographer.
As kids we always were doing some sort of "project". This has continued for me thoughout my life, dipping my hands in all sorts of creative "projects". I found my nitch in sewing. I LOVE creating different things. I picture it in my mind and then it becomes...it is my "gift" I suppose. And I enjoy working with the different fibers to see what can be done with them.
I mostly stay at home and mother our 2 wonderful and beautiful children (9 and 2), my husband and best friend, our 3 dogs and a cat, and our beautiful land. This keeps me busy, as I'm sure you can imagine, but I try to sew on a daily basis, even if it's only 15 minutes. I have been making clothes for many, many years (15 to be exact). I first started when I was 15 and made a patchwork skirt by hand for a show I was going to. As I got older I bought a sewing machine and began making clothes to support my traveling and music habit. I have traveled all over the country selling my clothes at all the wonderful shows and festivals. I miss that sometimes but am so blessed to have my 2 wonderful and beautiful children. When my son got older I started working in the film buisness...helping design sets and such. This was wonderful and fun work, but I truly missed being home. My daughter was born 2 years ago, and with the help of my wonderful and supportive husband, I started to stay home again. I knew we needed the extra income though....so here I am...trying to learn my way around the internet highway.
