Unique Manhattan Look on Boticca by Stylecaster Editor features my stacking rings

Boticca's guest blogger this week has a job most fashionistas would sell their Manolos for. Kerry Pieri is Features Director at Stylecaster, an online platform that showcases innovative content about all things style, from fashion editorials to how-to videos.
A typical day involves speaking with designers and photographers and other industry insiders who would ‘live and die for fashion’. Despite sticking to a ‘pretty restrained colour scheme’ and minimal pieces in her work wardrobe, Kerry spends her downtime discovering unique vintage and thrift pieces.
So naturally, she jumped at the chance to make her own edit of her favourite Boticca’s accessories.

Her work is particularly focused on rings and cocktail rings for both men and women. Its really nice to see how her style is transformed into rings for men, they have a chunky look which matches many of the womens pieces to create beautiful matching sets.
Her Etsy shop is separated into different collections that all have their own distinctive look. Kalicat trained in jewellery at Central St Martins and Hatton Garden in London and each item in her shop can be customised to order.

Autumn colours

a little drawing I made with dry pastels
let me know what you think, what sort of jewelery should she be wearing?

I was thinking stacking a few brown  bracelets and some earrings like these would look wonderful with her brown skin and would sublime her long red hair

exhibition - Wow jewels

as seen on Fraserhart

Craft Central introduces Wow! Jewels for Christmas

8 jewellery designers come together to display some festive glitter.
Eight designer-maker jewellers, including Rosemary Lucas and Debbie Carlton, will be coming together for their third Christmas show at Craft Central this year.

Craft Central introduces Wow! Jewels for Christmas
The Wow Jewels exhibition will also feature designers Alexandra Simpson, Catherine Marche, Emma Rose, Keren Cornelius, Lucy Sylvester and Olga Konopka.

Carlton’s jewellery designs explore the potential of polymer clay, inspired by the relationship of colour and texture with shape and form, and by the different effects achievable with simple tools.

Following a theme that incorporates the ‘Urbanscapes’ and colours of Africa, the designer is currently exploring the concept of windows; what they reveal and what they hide, whether it’s a mud village in Mali or a tenement building in New York.

The Wow! Jewels for Christmas show will take place in the Showcase Gallery at Craft Central, Clerkenwell, next to the jewellery quarter in Hatton Garden.

The exhibition will be open from 12-6pm from December 7th- 10th, and 12-4pm on December 11th, at Craft Central, St John’s Square, London.

Top 50 Etsy moms

50 Best Etsy Moms

As reported on is a booming hub for artists all around the world to sell their handmade products, consequently creating a community bursting with creativity and ingenuity. It’s a place to find unique treasures that directly supports some of the most talented individuals and their crafts. Not surprisingly, many of these artists, dreamers, designers and builders are moms like us. They’re balancing the day-to-day parenting responsibilities — sometimes with another day job, sometimes as a single mom — while still squeezing in time for their growing business. (This is where naps and bed times come in handy.) And they’re not just doing it for the money; they’re utilizing this creative outlet while teaching
their children the value of artistry, resourcefulness and determination.
We sifted through thousands of these talented moms to find our favorite 50 of the bunch. (Not an easy feat, you can imagine.) What we love about Etsy moms is the fact that, besides being exceptionally talented and busy, they all create products inspired by a mother’s own needs and wants. That’s why so many of these shops feature affordable, safe and stylish alternatives inspired by motherhood.
Although our picks span dozens of different categories, cultures and time zones, there were overwhelming similarities between the moms. The vast majority described their skills and insatiable need to create as being passed down through the family tree — one generation patiently teaching the next. Even more similarly, each and every one — whether they’ve been crafting for 3 or 30 years — pinpointed their children as inspiration. Often it was the desire to work from home while raising the kids; sometimes a need for better, safer products for their children; and many times it was a dream resurrected from the innocent imagination unfolding before them. Regardless, these moms are all motivated by their children, who in turn will be inspired by their mothers.

Of course it’s nearly impossible to find every talented Etsy mom, so we encourage you to share your favorites and, of course, support these striking talents.

Jaguar sponsors London Jewellery Week

9th June, 2010
Jaguar Cars gets London Jewellery Week moving as Official Sponsor and Luxury Transport Partner
Gold Chain by Catherine Marche
At the launch of London Jewellery Week on Monday night in the sumptuous Goldsmiths' Hall, spirits were high as press, industry elite, celebrities and jewellers mingled with representatives from funders and sponsors such as the London Development Agency, Camden and Newham Councils, Jaguar Cars Ltd, Champagne Lanson, Boodles, Swarovski and Swarovski Gems.
The stage was set for a fantastic week of glittering events, with speeches by Hector Miller of the Goldsmiths' Company and Della Tinsley, Director of London Jewellery Week. All in attendance toasted the hard work of the organisers, sponsors, patrons, partners and participating jewellers with Lanson Champagne

For a bit of glamour, London Jewellery Week Prestige Partners displayed their collections in showcases around the room. Represented were: David Marshall London, PureJewels, Jacobs Jewellery Design, JeDeCo (the Jewellery Design Collective), Boodles, Swarovski, Swarovski Gems, Dower & Hall and jewellers from Platform Gallery, the Green Street Jewellers Association and Treasure, the contemporary jewellery show.

Official Sponsor and Luxury Transport Partner, Jaguar, currently celebrating 75 years of looking forward, is providing a fleet of all-new Jaguar XJs to transport VIPs, including jewellery designers, television personalities, actors, musicians, Bollywood stars, and other London faces to launch parties and cornerstone events.

In addition, Jaguar is co-hosting bespoke events and a jewellery exhibition at the Jaguar Boutique in the Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge, to launch the Green Street Jewellers' Association's Discover Jewellery magazine.
Speaking at the time the Jaguar sponsorship was announced, Daljit Jagait of Jaguar Cars Ltd said: "The attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship that goes into designing and producing Jaguars means there is logical tie-up with the luxurious, skilled, bespoke jewellery trade".
Through its commitment to London Jewellery Week and London's jewellery industry, Jaguar supports the GSJA's efforts to raise the profile of Green Street as a lively jewellery quarter in the capital. Located in the heart of Newham, Green Street has been a traditional centre for the trade and is fast becoming a top shopping destination for exquisite fine jewellery and wedding jewellery.

Turquoise treatments

Stabilized Turquoise, what does it mean ?

STABILIZING is a treatment which enhances the hardness of the gemstone.
(it does not mean that the gemstone is dyed)

There are other different treatments available;
Among the ways of treating turquoise, treatments can include wax, staining, plastics impregnation.
Different treatments have quite an effect on quality, so the type of treatment is a very important parameter in measuring the quality of Turquoise
