Once upon a time....

One upon a time....

There was a little girl who liked crafting things with her hands: making Christmas decorations, painting Easter eggs, crocheting scarves, sewing bikinis, knitting gloves....
My first piece of "jewelry" was a beaded necklace made with big plastic beads as a little girl aged about 3-4 years old. I then went on making pieces for my dolls: necklaces, bracelets and earrings and graduated to making earrings for me and some girlfriends aged 12-16.

A few years later, I came across a shop selling gemstones beads. Yumm yumm and made a few more beaded items. A friend took some for her shop, and O surprise, they did sell.

The little girl grew into a wonderful and graceful swan (as they do in fairy tales, Yes!), she met her Prince Charming, they got married and they had many many ... hmmmm well 2 children. While they were tinies, I was wondering what job would suit me being around them, that I could enjoy and would not keep me working at nights or week-ends like my IT career. And suddenly, the Eureka moment happened !
Jewellery !!! I love les Bijoux . I never have enough bijoux ! I always buy more, commission pieces. Maybe I should just learn how to make them ?

A couple of weeks later, I enrolled in my 1st jewellery class: Jewellery at the Bench at Central St martins and have never looked back.

In a few months, I learnt how to pierce, solder, carve wax, polish... and enjoy working with sterling silver and gold ever since., improving my skills with specialised masterclasses and   workshops.

Ma cherie, ma Valentine

It is always great fun to receive something unique as a present, especially some bespoke gold jewellery (hint).
The good thing with commissioning a craftperson is that they can make your ideas come to life in a few sketches and lots of hard work :)

Enjoy your Valentine' s day
